DIGITAL TWIN TECHNOLOGY
At Nationwide, our mission is to protect people, businesses and futures with extraordinary care. As customer needs change, we also must adapt to find new and innovative ways to meet their expectations.
As Mimi Chizever, VP of Technology Strategy & Innovation, explains, "One of the great things we get to do is experiment with emerging technologies to find new ways of delivering business value for Nationwide."
One of the emerging tech trends we are exploring is the concept of digital twins, which is a comprehensive virtual representation of a physical object or environment. Digitizing a physical object requires the convergence of many technologies, including augmented reality and virtual reality. In this video, we describe how Nationwide can use this technology to create a twin of a grain silo. This virtual representation of the silo will enable farmers to monitor their grain silos in real time to prevent loss of product, loss of life and conduct predictive maintenance.
This is just one way live our values of being there for our members and ensure that Nationwide is on Your Side.
