THANK YOU

Closing thoughts from our
2019 Committee Chair, GREG TACCHETTI

I wanted to share some final thoughts on the 2019 CIO Tomorrow conference. First, I want to thank everyone who graciously volunteered their time to help pull the day together, Lt Governor Jon Husted for attending, and of course, all of our 2019 event sponsors.

When the event committee started planning the 2019 conference, we principally wanted to achieve one objective; put on an event that the technology community of Columbus felt helped them be a little better, and was ultimately a good investment of their precious time.

With this objective in mind, we set about finding an outstanding panel of speakers who were going to cover a wide range of topics; topics we felt were relevant and important to all of us.

Mark Kvame’s message about the increasing pace of change and coming disruption is vital for everyone in the technology community to understand. Lak Lakshmanan helped make the complicated arena of machine learning easily understood. Dr. Tonjia Coverdale delivered an inspirational message about how and where to look for new sources of talent for our teams, and last, Sandy Doyle-Ahern provided us with the gift of her experiences through terrific examples of how to lead and develop our teams.

In addition to these terrific speakers, we also launched our first Innovation Expo, where companies and organizations from around the Ohio Region showed off the interesting and ground-breaking work they’ve been doing. Having been all over the country and seen many events like this, I can tell you this was the best. The innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit shown at the expo is as good as anywhere in the country and that is very exciting for the future of Columbus.

We explored a number of new aspects of the conference this year, and hopefully met the objective we set out to achieve. We sincerely hope you enjoyed the day and found something to help you be a little better as a technologist, as a leader, and as a person.
