WIDENING THE TALENT POOL: A CALL TO ACTION

As Columbus Ohio embarks on its journey in becoming "Smart Columbus" - having won the Smart Cities Challenge, and looking at explosive growth in our tech sector, it is becoming clear that access to talent is a key differentiator for our region.

As a technology community, we find ourselves in urgent need of increasing the number of innovative and qualified individuals entering the IT talent pool, whether they be new grads, immigrants, or talent we already have locally but cannot see or find difficult to reach.

In 2018, CIO Tomorrow will direct its talent-focused questions to the areas of workforce development, recruiting, retention, promotion, training, education, and access… showcasing the stories and perspectives that illustrate today’s complex challenges, and exploring options and possible solutions to take our community forward.

CONFERENCE FOCUS QUESTIONS:

How can companies manage rapid, expansive growth while maintaining a compelling technology culture with positive business results?

What are the challenges, options, actions and strategies in connecting opportunities to people across the quickly-expanding landscape of numerous technology domains?

How can we better understand, embrace and support the role our education systems and resources have in creating our next generation of IT Leaders?

How can valuing differences, removing barriers and minimizing limitations create a vibrant landscape of expanded talent opportunities, rich in diversity and inclusive of untapped future IT Leaders?
